Werewolf

Werewolf. 2016. Electroformed copper 4ft (121.92 centimeters)
Werewolf zoetrope shows the transformation of a human into his beautiful werewolf form. As he transforms, the broken loop of the zoetrope is completed by the werewolf going into a cave at the top and the human coming out of a cave at the bottom. The process for the werewolves is much more involved since I took on the task of electroforming these creatures. In order to achieve this, I first made a silicon mold of my werewolf sculpts (human and werewolf form). I then poured multiple waxes of both so I could pose them into the animated sequence. I sprayed an electro-conductive copper metallic paint onto one of the figures before sticking them into the electroforming bath (a copper sulfate hydrochloric acid bath). I then turned on the electrical current and waited. It took around 3-4 days for each werewolf to be completely electroformed.
